July 2001:
Sandra's got a web site of her own now where you can read all about her latest
CD
"Gemini: Both Sides",
watch videos, find out where she is performing and everything else you could
possibly ever
want from an artist's official site. The site relies heavily on Flash and
demands a DSL or cable connection (high bandwidth) to the internet. The
URL is
http://www.sandrastvictor.com
December 2000:
If you haven't already, check out Common's latest CD. He's made a cover of "Ghetto Heaven", with D'Angelo singing the hook. Sandra thinks it's "quite 'flyy' if I must say so myself". Also, Amiel Larrieaux gave Sandra and the Family Stand a nice shout in the liner notes of her latest CD.
Sandra says "it's nice to know that someone paid attention to us".
The Family Stand are talking about a reunion, as well as some touring
within the upcoming year.
In January 2001, be on the lookout for the first single by a new artist on Dreamworks named Leslie Carter. Leslie is the little sister to the Backstreet Boyz's Carter, and big sister to Aaron Carter. Sandra's behind Leslie's debut single which is called "Like Wow."
July 1998:
Sandra's been released from her contract with Warner Brothers and reportedly has had
"that emancipation feeling" ever since. She recently performed at a couple of
VH-1 promoted shows in the States called "Rock Across America" (she's done a few
of them before) and is scheduled to perform in London in September.
Meanwhile, Peter Lord, of the Family Stand (who as you probably know also were released
-not dropped- by their label Elektra, following the superb "Connected" album)
recently told this scribe that he and his sax-tooting-partner-in-crime Jeff Lord are up to
some very exciting things, indeed. They are currently working with a couple of new
artists, writing and producing, both as a team and separately, and are also planning to do
a so called producer's album, which will feature both (!) Sandra St. Victor and Jacci
McGhee.
